Expressions is a suite for winds and percussion created for Dr. Devin Otto and the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Bands between 2020-22. Each of the six-movements is a transcription or re-composition of a movement from my solo piano work Journey. The suite is based on a single, underlying musical structure – the essence of the piece – that is expressed in a different manner in each movement. This central idea depicts an individual who, over the course of the piece, experiences a wide range of scenarios and emotions suggested by each movement’s title. Expressions was completed with the generous support of the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh Faculty Development Program and premiered by the Wisconsin Symphonic Winds on August 20th, 2023.

Movements may be played alone or in smaller sets.
