“Journeys” featuring Jeri-Mae G. Astolfi, piano

My first solo album "Journeys" (Ravello Records, 2018) includes superb performances of my solo piano compositions Journey (2015-17), Swirling Sky (2014), and Three Pieces for Piano (2006) performed by Jeri-Mae G. Astolfi

Reviews:

“Martin is a composer who sees and feels things tangibly in his music and Astolfi is a ready interpreter with an undeniable affinity for his writing” (David Olds, The Whole Note, 3/27/2019)

“Very interesting compositions … A purely contemporary style, very evocative and introspective, but also very rhythmic and energetic” (Luciano Feliciani, Kathooik, 1/4/2019)

“Mostly flowing, abstract works for solo piano. Play!” (WRUV 90.1 Burlington, VT Reviews, 12/3/2018)

“… highly original piano compositions that invite the listener on a voyage through mysterious realms where the limits of the sensual and the intuitive dissolve … If you’re a collector of modern classical piano music … there’s plenty for you to discover” (Darren Rae, Review Graveyard, 11/20/2018)

“I am never less than amazed by [Astolfi’s] jaw-dropping performances, versatility, and interpretive abilities … It’s quite the ride!” (Kathy Parson, Mainly Piano, 10/8/2018)

“The collection of contemporary piano music … takes the listener on an interesting exploration of sounds and shapes” (MaestroSteve, 10/1/2018)
